We ask that you take a few moments to acquaint yourself with our studio policies. We are pleased that you have selected Dorothy's Dancing Unlimited and pledge ourselves to justify the confidence you have placed in us.
Student Code Of Conduct
- I am here to learn, to achieve, and to acquire an appreciation for the arts and the disciplines imparted by the study of dance.
- I will not chew gum or candy in class.
- Before entering the classroom my hair will be up, tightly secured and off my neck.
- I understand that appropriate attire will be required in the classroom.
- I will respect studio property and the rights of others.
- I will not make unnecessary conversation or noise, especially while the instructor is talking or working with another individual.
- I will pay attention to my instructor and stay alert for the entire dance session.
- I will keep myself and my dance equipment neat and clean at all times.
- I will be punctual and attend classes regularly.
- I will support and abide by these rules of conduct at all times and expect all others to do so.
The minimum class enrollment is six. If the class size drops below minimum the class may be canceled or combined with another class.
We make every effort to place the students in the proper class for their age and level. Each student is personally evaluated several times throughout the year.
Absences and Make-Up Lessons
We ask that you please notify the studio if you or your child will be absent from dance class. Make-up lessons are available if a student misses their regular class. This option is offered only to enrolled students whose tuition and other studio payments are current. Make-up lessons must be taken within 4 weeks of the missed class at a comparable level. They must be scheduled through the office, they are subject to space availability, and they ust be taken in a class other than the one the student missed. No refunds will be given if the dancer cannot attend any make-up lessons. No make-up lessons will be allowed in May or June due to recital preparation. If a student has excessive absenteeism, the instructor has the option to drop the student from the class to take a lower level, or tell the student they may not be able to perform in that recital number in the recital (even if a costume has been purchased).
All students are required to wear appropriate apparel. Proper footwear is required for all dancers. Long hair should be secured off the neck. No jewelry. Girls are required to wear leotard and tights for all dance classes. Absolutely no bare legs, bra tops (where the stomach is exposed) or street clothing.
WE HAVE NO CONTRACTS AND NO ENROLLMENT FEES.
Registration requires only the completion of a short, simple form for our records and payment of the first month's tuition.
All tuition is payable monthly in advance and due the first lesson of each month. Tuition not paid on or before the fifteenth of each month will be subject to a late charge of $15.00. All tuition is based on FOUR (4) LESSONS per month. When a fifth week occurs, the extra lesson is considered a "courtesy lesson" or "make-up lesson" at no extra charge. If tuition is not paid by the last day of the month, we reserve the right to exclude the dancer from classes until the account is current. All tuition must be paid by June 10th. Any student with unpaid tuition will not be permitted to perform in the recital.
Refunds & Credit
Refunds will be given if class closes due to low enrollment. You may elect to receive a credit rather than a refund, which may be applied to any other class. Refunds and/or credits will be issued only through the office. No refund will be given if a student withdraws from a class. If a class is cancelled by Dorothy's Dancing Unlimited due to unforeseen circumstances, a credit for that class will be issued by the office. Credit will not be given if a student misses a class. See the Absences & Make Up Lessons section of this policy for more information. Membership fees and the cost of recital costumes are not refundable.
There will be a $30.00 charge for any checks returned due to insufficient funds.
Do Not Leave Valuables in the Dressing Rooms

Parents Observation Day

The studio presents an annual recital each year on the last full weekend in June. The recital weekend includes three events: a Friday dress rehearsal, and afternoon performances on Saturday and Sunday. A costume will be required and we will shop the markets carefully in selecting costumes to keep them at the lowest price possible (costumes range from $65.00-$90.00). There will also be the cost of purchasing tickets. Read the Recital page on this web site for more information.
